I had the opportunity to meet and speak with Barak Baaiz, the Restaurant Manager and Martin Enqvist, the F&B Manager at the Scandic Alvik hotel.
Over the years Barak Baaiz has developed a lot of professional experience working in hotel restaurants, banquet halls, conferences and À la carte. His own keen interest in food, drinks and service has helped him achieve his goals by increasing the happiness at the Scandic Alvik hotel. He has combined his professional work with his hobby – improving the ambience and making the guests feel more pleased about the service. Barak’s social abilities helped him work with his staff to accomplish the objectives that they set for themselves.
Scandic is a good environment to work in teams, because things come so natural when it’s about helping each other to do the best job, communicate openly and see that everyone is happy and content at the end of the day, Barak says.
What makes Scandic Alvik so special is that the employees get the opportunity to develop on a career-inspiring path, being a part of a multi-cultural society, meeting and understanding different cultures and the needs of the guests.
Scandic Alvik is a modern hotel located in Alvik-Bromma, just ten minutes from the center of Stockholm. The hotel is nicely located, near public transport and also close to exits of the main highways. The place is close to the city, yet having the advantage of avoiding the traffic and the city’s noise in this peaceful setting.

Scandic in Society is an initiative at all hotels where we want to make a difference in our world. This may involve inviting night-patrolling parents or police for a cup of coffee, or collecting Christmas presents to children who have no opportunity to celebrate Christmas, explains Martin Enqvist, F&B Manager at Scandic Alvik.
Another excellent benefit at Alvik is that everyone is welcome to enjoy our delicious fresh food without staying at the hotel. We have various offers every week with good prices and a highly professional service, continues Martin Enqvist.
