The past few days saw Mercedes Benz Fashion Week attracting bloggers, models and journalists to the pavillion in Kungsträdgården and Berns Salon. Our very own Emma Ladlow reports.
The first show out was The Local Firm and we were lucky enough to be there and see the dark, minimal, military inspired street-wear for both men and women. Our next show was Stylein where rich, autumnal hues coloured a very feminine collection, despite featuring lots of sharp tailoring in the mix. This was a really strong, commercial collection which could easily fill our wardrobes and encompasses the simple undertones Stockholm style is known for. We also loved Dagmar with lots of texture and stand out knits. Blonde hair and black leather was everywhere to be seen!
Famous faces such as Swedish blogger and Editor Columbine Smille and Stockholmstreetstyle photographers were in town. For the first time fashion giant Style.com features Stockholm Fashion Week this season and is showing images from shows, a sign that the scene here is growing in international recognition.
Famed for it’s minimal, clean lines and edgy androgony, Swedish style is even travelling to London Fashion Week next month to feature in a special exhibition of Scandinavian Design as a further act of promoting international awareness for the industry here.
