“Drömmen om Fagersta – Dreaming of Fagersta” is a documentary made by Alma Paz, a Mexican student, in which she tells the story of how a first contact with Swedish music – more specifically the post-punk rock of The Hives – got her to start taking Swedish lessons at home in Mexico City and later to make a decision that would change her life in its entirety.
Our life decisions often take us through the unknown and not so easy roads… Sometimes with unexpected consequences and destinations. This was indeed the case with Alma. This is an honest story where she puts two worlds, the world of her origins and the world of her dreams side by side. With the help or her friends she finds a way to better understand them and a way to live in both of them at once.
