Stockholm Film Festival Junior was established in 2000 to distribute quality films for children and young people. Film workshops and short film competition "1 minute film" are also organised to inspire filmmaking at an early age. During the festival week, you can see films from all over the world in cinemas around Stockholm, for primary schools, secondary schools and all between 6-19 years - with free admission.

Stockholm Film Festival JUNIOR takes place between 3-8 April 2017!

The festival's goal is to show quality films from around the world, with films that rarely reaches the usual cinemas, homes or schools. The displays vary with the filmmaking, discussion and documentation to bring back to the classroom. In addition, the festival is visited every year by a number of international filmmakers who come to Stockholm to meet the audience and answer questions. Film screenings are free for all children, youth and teachers. You can book a place at the screenings. Be sure to book in advance as many screenings quickly become fully booked.

The festival week runs in six action-packed festival days in April and ends with the Awards Ceremony and Gala at the cinema Skandia, where the winners of the 1 minute film contest are announced.
