Raye’s intimate show at Debaser was last year’s best concert in our book, so we were thrilled to learn that she would be one of the acts at this year’s Rosendal Garden Party.
Raye of course had her big breakthrough last year following the long-awaited independent release of her debut album 21st Century Blues, which won her plenty of critical acclaim as well as commercial success. Among other things, she won a record-breaking six Brit Awards. So now she is out playing those big stages that she deserves. She also had viral hits on Tik Tok, most notably Escapism.
Just ahead of the Rosendal show, Raye released a seven minute track called Genesis, showing her commitment to her art and genre-bending, which were both also on full display on the festival stage.
