This Christmas will certainly be different from what we’re used to, since 2020 has more or less turned our lives upside down. But all the more reason to put together a nice Christmassy playlist to get into the Christmas mood.
Some of our favorite Swedish artists have actually been busy making music this year, as there are so many wonderful new original Christmas tunes to add to our list. Some are worth a special mention, like My Marianne (Molly Sandén) and Jonathan Johansson‘s Come Whatever, Come What May, which already sounds like a classic.
Our special favorite Dotter has released her first Christmas song, the Swedish-language Vintern jag var sexton. Iiris Viljanen has put the mixed emotions of the Corona times in her song Brevväxlingar. We have also included new originals from the likes of Anna Bergendahl, Nova Miller, The Mamas, Kadiatou, Wiktoria and more…
There are also some fine versions of golden Christmas classics, like Janice‘s take on Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
