This almost 60 years old (UNBELIEVABLE!!!!) English multitalent came to show kids how to rave properly. Born with the name Norman Quentin Cook – DJ, musician, and record producer – knows how to bring the beats and make you move. Picture a time when electronic dance music was exploding onto the scene, and Fatboy Slim was right in the centre of it all, pushing boundaries and creating infectious tunes.
Back in the late 1990s, Fatboy Slim unleashed his groundbreaking album “You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby” upon the world. This masterpiece was packed with hits that instantly took over the airwaves and dancefloors. We’re talking about tracks like “The Rockafeller Skank”, “Praise You”, and “Right Here, Right Now”. These tunes were absolute bangers that turned Fatboy Slim into a superstar and set the stage for the big beat revolution.
Fatboy Slim’s music is a vibrant mix of electronic beats, funky samples, and a fusion of genres that’ll make your head spin. His infectious sound blends dance, hip hop, rock, and funk, creating a sonic experience like no other. But it’s not just about the music with Fatboy Slim. Oh no! Lollapalooza Stockholm 2023 witnessed an epic explosion of beats and infectious energy as the one and only Fatboy Slim took over the stage. This icon unleashed a sonic tsunami that had the crowd bouncing, spinning, and losing their minds in the best way possible.

Proving he is a living legend, he closed his set and the first day of activities at Lollapalooza with a brilliant from-legend-to-legend mix, an extended version of “Rockafeller Skank” and “I can’t get no satisfaction” by legends The Rolling Stones.
Daredevil as he is, the projections during his performance had a parade of celebrities, presidents like Obama, prime ministers and other political and social figures like Greta Thunberg herself lip-syncing to his tunes. At the beginning of the gig he paid homage to departed rock and pop stars, showing the faces of the likes of David Bowie, Andrew Fletcher, Freddie Mercury and Tina Turner, among others, the latter receiving the loudest ovation from the audience, due to her recent departure.
The screen behind Norman Quentin Cook was plagued by literally hypnotic visuals from start to finish, in an analogue video style from the 80’s and 90’s, much like a wink to the era that saw Fatboy Slim catapult to the fame. And he had his dance moves around the stage swinging a towel above his head accompanied by Iggy Pop on the screen and by the actor Christopher Walken as seen on the video of his major hit “Weapon of Choice”.
Lollapalooza Stockholm 2023 won’t soon be forgotten, thanks to Fatboy Slim’s mind-blowing performance. This legendary artist proved once again why he’s an unstoppable force in the electronic music world. His infectious beats and boundless enthusiasm created an unforgettable experience that will be talked about for years to come.
