Department returned for its second edition bringing the best of today’s techno, house and dance representatives to a larger audience than last year.
The festival took place on May 23rd and not only did all tickets sell out, but Department also expanded in quality with a bigger lineup and longer hours of non-stop music, opening its doors to the party at 3pm and not being done before 5am the following day.
The three stages were packed with people dancing to the beats brought in by the likes of Anja Schneider, DJ Clea, DJ Hell, Jon Hopkins (Dj set), Kornél Kovács, Miss Dilema, Parallax Deep aka Maya Lourenço, Solomun (Official) and Todd Terje among others. And honestly the music was SO GOOD that it was hard to decide at which stage to stay and join the other dancing souls who had gathered there.
Some of the most loved Djs of the day were: Todd Terje with his synth-party boosted grooves, Miss Dilemma who put the icing on the cake at Lilla Globen stage and Solomun doing his part at the Förbindelsehallen stage.
Unlike last year, the weather gods were very generous with this year’s Department and festival goers alike, spoiling us with blasting sunshine and warm temperatures of up to 27 degrees Celsius, which definitely made a difference in pumping the spirits up. It all made the Lilla Globen outdoor stage the joyful place to be and dance in the early hours of the festival.
Our correspondent Linda Andersson writes about her experiences at Department:
“Department, yes you did it again. Surprised us all, I believe. From small details when you enter, to food trucks, security, service-minded staff and the line up. I enjoyed every minute of it. The weather was with us, so we were lucky. I met eyes that sparkled like diamonds of love and joy. You have created a place for everyone to hang and enjoy love, spirit and good music. No matter where you are from or how you look like, you’re always welcome. So with this said, I am looking forward to the next to come. Keep up the good work and thank you! Big Love ❤” Linda Anderson.
