The queens of the Stockholm urban music scene, Cherrie and Mapei, took over the big stage at Gröna Lund for an unforgettable June evening. More about Mapei here.
Cherrie has been a fixture on the Stockholm music scene since her debut in 2015 and she is known for vividly portraying the experiences of growing up in the suburbs of Stockholm. She also addresses themes like identity, love and the struggles, as well as the triumphs of her community and herself. She has her own unique style mixing contemporary R’n’B, soul, pop and hiphop.
Cherrie has also gained influence as a superstar of the Somali diaspora and collaborated with big international stars, including Kehlani and Stormzy.
Cherrie held her audience captive at Gröna Lund with her fragile yet commanding voice, as well as with her small gestures and sensual dance moves. She got the crowd singing along to many of her big hits like 163 för evigt, Lämna han, and Mami. Her latest Go getter was also a favorite with the crowd.
Cherrie also brought on stage fellow artists Elias Abbas and Daniela Rathana.
