Where to view the New Year’s Eve fireworks
City Hall, or Stadshuset, is a charming gathering point for New Year’s Eve. Its spire featuring the golden Three Crowns is one of the most famous silhouettes in Stockholm and provides a beautiful back drop to watch the fireworks.
A Historical location set high upon the edge of a cliff with a fantastic view of the city and a spectacular spot to see the midnight fireworks.
The party-lovers in Stockholm will gather at Södermalmstorg, located on Götgatan in the Södermalm district of Stockholm. You can expect the bars and restaurants in the area to be brimming with nightlife and locals to be partying in the streets until the break of dawn.
This beautiful walking path stretches nearly a mile with a magnificent view of City Hall, Lake Mälaren, and Riddarholmen, and is a great place to see the fireworks from miles around.
New Year’s Eve Events: Classical
Gamla Stan
For a lot of locals, Stockholm’s Old Town is a favorite hotspot on New Year’s Eve. Here, you can attend the popular Nyårskonsert at Storkyrkan and enjoy renowned musical artists and live orchestra performances of Bach and Haydn in the evening and later join the crowds to watch the fireworks over the water.

Skansen
On New Year’s Eve, Stockholm’s Skansen open-air museum will host a live broadcast of Tennyson’s Ring Out Wild Bells at midnight with performances and choir music watched by millions. Fireworks can also be seen.
New Year at Berns
Complete with a dance floor, live band, DJ’s, five-course dinner and bar. The festivities will begin at 18:00 and ends at 4:00 am.

New Year’s Eve Concert at The Royal Palace
Enjoy a concert at Slottskyrkan of the Royal Palace. Försvarsmusiken and Arméns Musikkår, with direction by Mats Janhagen, will perform many pieces by various composers to give you an unforgettable experience.
