Easter is fast approaching— it falls on Sunday, April 8 this year. But don’t fear there are still lots of fabulous and fun ways to celebrate Easter in Stockholm— from Easter egg & feather hunts to Easter markets.
Across Sweden, Spring is arriving bringing flowers, new animals and Easter! From April 1-9th, 2012, Stockholm offers a wide range of fun family events for Easter including entertainment, a market, arts and crafts, games, and Easter Egg Hunts! Spend the Easter Long Weekend enjoying some of the region’s many attractions. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Easter.
1. Easter activities and feather hunt at Drottningholm Palace!
April 6th – 9th (11.00 – 15.30)
Drottningholm Palace is open every day during Easter weekend, with children’s activities and palace tours. The Easter programme includes Easter activities, a feather hunt and palace tours.
Find the hen, find the egg: Feather hunt at Drottningholm Palace
The royal hens (and the odd goose) have been running around the state apartments at Drottningholm Palace, where they have lost lots of feathers. Borrow a map showing where the hens have been running around, and help us find all the feathers — as well as the golden Easter egg! Rewards for all children who take part. The feather hunt are included in the normal entry fee. Half price for children and students, free entry for children up to the age of six.

2. Holiday Hunt at the Royal Palace of Stockholm
Holiday Hunt at the Palace
April 7th-15th between 12:00–16:00
Open Monday 9 April
The Egg Hunt takes place in the Museum Tre Kronor (Three Crowns) at the Palace. There’s a reward for any young hunters who help look for the Easter eggs during the school holidays!
The museum is located on the ground floor of the Palace and to access the museum you have to pass through the five-metre thick defence wall from the 1200s.
Free entrance for children, accompanied by a guardian, during the Hunt period 7–15 April.
3. Easter at Skansen
Traditional Easter Activities, games and a Easter Market
April 2nd-9th between 11.00–16.00
Celebrate Easter the traditional way at Skansen. Join them for a real Swedish Easter with bonfires, witches, an Easter market and lots of good food and sweets. Skansen is open 10-16, activities between 11-16, unless otherwise stated.

4. Easter Egg hunt at Millesgården
Egg Hunting
March 31st – April 9th
Throughout the Easter vacation you can take the kids to Millesgården and go on an exciting egg hunt! They have open between 11-17, and the egg hunt costs 20 SEK per person. Admission is free for children up to 19-years-old.
Millesgården is a museum with antique collection, sculpture garden, art gallery and restaurant that is just 10 minutes from downtown Stockholm.
