For the first time ever, Pernilla Wahlgren is hosting a special winter edition of Allsång på Skansen, transforming the popular summer sing-along into a festive Christmas celebration. The program, titled Jul – Allsång på Skansen, will be broadcast on December 23rd on SVT. Accompanied by the Allsång Orchestra , Wahlgren and guest artists will perform a mix of sing-along friendly Christmas songs, both classic and modern.
Pernilla Wahlgren is widely known for her love of Christmas, seeing as she was born on Christmas Eve. She sees the event as a natural extension of the beloved Swedish tradition of gathering with loved ones to enjoy music during the holidays. “It’s surprising this hasn’t been done before,” she says, emphasizing the universal appeal of Christmas music and its power to bring people together.
The musical guests include popular artists like Marcus & Martinus, Mapei, Laleh, Lena Philipsson, Hasse Andersson, Timo Räisänen, Carola with Kleerup and Alive Gospel, ensuring a vibrant and varied musical experience.
While the essence of the event mirrors the summer edition, you’re in for a fully festive transformation, complete with Christmas decorations and holiday cheer. The setting at Skansen, a venue closely associated with traditional Christmas celebrations, adds to the charm.
With its blend of timeless classics, new renditions, and a cozy Christmas ambiance, Jul-Allsång på Skansen aims to become a cherished holiday tradition for audiences across Sweden.
