One of Sweden’s most influential hip hop artists, Timbuktu, played a well-attended show at Gröna Lund, and we were there to capture the moments.
Timbuktu, or Jason Diakité has released 10 solo albums and been awarded with multiple Grammis and P3 Guld awards. He is known for exploring themes of identity, social justice and multiculturalism in his music. He is also famous for his very clever wordplay in Swedish, as well as sharp social commentary and catchy beats.
Timbuktu’s live shows are full of positive energy, as his delivery of his colorful songs makes for an unforgettable concert experience. For his Grönan show he brought along Esther Kirabo and Julimar Santos, as well as DJ Large, to bring the live show back to the roots of hip hop, where all you need is a turntable and microphones.
