Rosendal Garden Party – Little Glasto

Summer has already started in Stockholm and festival season is thriving. Or, I would say blossoming, if we refer to the Rosendal’s Garden Party. It’s been a while since the RGP took place, so it’s time to make all those who didn’t  have a chance to attend jealous. Why was it special for me? Because it was “our” first time. My first festival in Sweden and the inauguration of The Rosendals Garden. Hopefully it will continue!

It was a truly magical event, even though not everything went perfect. But in my humble, partial opinion, the festival was one of the most pleasant experiences. Mostly because of the splendid location. What a fantastic idea to invite great musicians to perform in the National Park! The surroundings of the blooming nature intensified the fairy tail effect. What on earth can be more idyllic? The weather perhaps, but that’s not the organisers fault, right? The occasional rain took me back to Glastonbury, and this is never a bad experience (for someone who has been there or lived in the UK for 20 years). Eh, those good memories of being young and far from home!

Anyway, let’s spread positive energy and start from the absolutely remarkable decorations. They played a big role, like beautiful jewellery added to a fashionable dress. A bit trippy and surreal making the Garden extra special for this occasion. Colourful, cheerful and summery. And perfect for instagram (follow us to find out more!) If you are the artist who designed it reading this article – please accept my personal words of admiration!

I heard some people complaining about the sound system and I have to agree – it wasn’t perfect. It had too much bass and too little vocals. At some places it was hard to hear the lyrics, but it didn’t stop the fans from singing and having fun.

Culturally, I think Sweden is more stiff as an audience in comparison to Britain for instance. It takes the artists more of an effort to make people go with the flow. That might be another reason why Tyler, the Creator (the biggest star of the RGP) tweeted in 2019 he will never get back here. Of course the ASAP Rocky incident was the main cause, I am just speculating. I heard from some other musicians before that Sweden can be a bit difficult. Thoughts? Well, at least Tyler changed his mind 😉 Big fat plus for the organisers to convince him. Every story is a good story if there is a happy ending – that’s my point.

Food tacks – the queues were rather long so I assume there could be more places serving meals. Although the options we had there were various and yummy. Also bars – were friendly and enough to make people enjoy the event fully, if you know what i mean 😉

The security worked perfectly and any incident was sorted immediately and calmly. It made me feel pretty safe there, and this is always important for girls to know.

Bottom line: I would give The Rosendal’s Garden Party 5 stars out of 5 to encourage them to make the festival even better next year.

I always find festivals rather interesting because  you can discover new artists. Singers you would never heard of or never thought they’re gonna be “your thing”.  Now time to wait for Lolapalooza – will it be a little Coachella? I hope so! We will definitely keep you updated here and on our social media!
