On the evening of November 15, the winners at the 30th Stockholm International Film Festival were presented at Göta Lejon. The festival’s big winner was the director Melina León, whose movie Song Without a Name was awarded the prestigious Bronze Horse for Best Film and Best Cinematography. Nanfu Wang and Jialing Zhang’s documentary One Child Nation received the Bronze Horse for Best Documentary. See all the winners below.
The director Kantemir Balagov was presented with this year’s Stockholm Impact Award for his story Beanpole. Stockholm International Film Festival founded the award in 2015 in collaboration with the City of Stockholm. The winning director receives one million SEK and a unique statuette designed by the world-famous artist Ai Weiwei.
Actress Celie Sparre was named 2019’s Stockholm Rising Star, and the director Tova Mozard won the short film scholarship 1 Km Film. Nina Hoss won the award for Best Actress for her role in The Audition, and Bartosz Bielenia won the award for Best Actor for his role in Corpus Christi. The celebrated film Synonyms written by Nadav Lapid and Haim Lapid won the award for Best Script and Mark Jenkin was named Best Director for his film Bait.
Alexander Salzberger hosted the awards ceremony.
