There are few things we like more at YLC than a really nice plate of sushi. Whether you are into fish or perhaps prefer veggie sushi – this is the list for you. We give you six of our best tips for scrumptious sushi around town!
Akki Sushi, Söder
Aaah… Akki Sushi. Once recommended to us by the award winning Sushi chef at Stockholm’s Japanese spa, you could walk past this tiny shop and not know it was there – unless you wondered about the crowd hanging around waiting for their takeaway. This can be a BIG crowd – because despite its anonymous exterior – this sushi is perhaps the BEST in town. If you are on Söder – and you want to eat sushi – this is where you should go. Honest.
Where: Folkkungagatan 45
Yibin Sushi, Östermalm
Almost a hole in the wall (tiny shop with a tiny eating area + one table outside) this sushi joint offers mouthwateringly fresh products and the most perfect avocados in Stockholm all year round. The service is nice and helpgul and the prices reasonable – especially considering is location. Well worth a visit – we make sure to go there often. And you should too if you like sushi!
Where: Östermalmsgatan 96
Ni Hao, Vasastan
If you want home made sushi and/or dumplings and you happen to be in Vasastan – locals and people working in the area swear by Ni Hao. However, it can get busy at lunch time so be there on time.
Where: Gästrikegatan 1
Ikki Sushi, Sickla
If you happen to be in Sickla köpkvarter you should without a doubt pop into this sushi shop and eat. With nice staff and fresh products – it comes recommended as one of the best in the city.
Where: Sickla köpkvarter, Järnvägsgatan 5
66 Kvadrat, Fruängen
Small shop in what a friend of ours (who lives in the centre of town) would call the “inner sticks”. The food is always fresh and well made, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Scarily – they are also always super attractive (is there something Stepford-esque going on here?). Joke aside, for those of us who live this south of Söder – this sushi shop is a life saver.
Where: Fruängsgatan 69
Top tip: Are you planning a dinner out with friends and fancy top class sushi – why not book Kaiten-zushi at Stockholm’s Yasuragi? Have Sweden’s award winning sushi chef prepare your sushi of choice and place it on the conveyor belt before you and your guests. Can be booked here for parties of 12 minimum and 20 maximum.
