It’s that time of year again, peeps! If you haven’t nailed that perfect present for your hubby/boyfriend/Dad or other random male in your life – now is the time to do it!
Ah yes, the annual ‘what am I going to buy that fabulous man in my life for Christmas?’ question. I don’t know about you but I’ve had many a scramble come December 22nd when I’ve faced the reality that I haven’t a clue what to get him. Thankfully this year YOU, our fantastic YLC readers, helped out and gave some great recommendations on what might be the perfect gift. I thank you, as do countless other women across the wonderful city of Stockholm.
Without any further ado, let’s take a look at our favourites:
1. A good read
Loads of readers recommended books, books and more books, and as a confirmed bibliophile I wholeheartedly support this one. We’ve picked five of our favourites, which you can find here. If those don’t suit your fancy – Stockholm is teaming with book shops that carry great reads in not just English but also in a plethora of other languages.
2. A close shave
So your man has taken a real shine to his Movember moustache and you’re feeling a bit scratched up after a night of fun? You can delicately hint by gifting him with some Beard Balm. This might be a tad bit pricey but if it staves off the beard rash it’s well worth the price. Alternatively, if you’ve simply had enough of this facial topiary business and aren’t up to a midnight sneak attack with the clippers while he sleeps, get him a gift certificate for a Gentleman’s Shave.
3. Say it with Pork
They say everything tastes better with bacon and there’s many a man (and woman who would agree). So if your man is heavily into pork why not a subscription to the Bacon of the Month club? That’s two pounds of bacon each months, which should inspire him to take over Sunday morning fry-up duties. And if he is against the whole idea of eating meat – why not gift him a monthly or bimonthly veggie-feast?
4. Out of sight, out of mind? Not anymore!
Wondering if he thinks about you while at work all day? Make sure he does with this desk photo calendar. You’re in charge of the design and upload your photos so can give him the gift of your smiling face and loving gaze every month of the year. Because he is worth it.
5. I once had a farm in…my kitchen…
For anyone who is tired of wilting basil or drooping oregano – this Swedish innovation will turn even the least green-fingered urbanite into a gentleman farmer. Pop your store-bought herb into one of these babies and it will last well into the New Year. It’s also perfect for growing the wheat grass you’ll be vowing to drink every day come New Year’s Eve. Everybody wins!
