YLC recently tried Crossfit and now we are giving you the chance to try it too! PT Karl Gullö from Crossfit Södermalm will share with YLC readers one Crossfit workout per week, along with educational videos and top trainer tips!
Hey again, fellow Crossfiters! Are you ready for another intense workout? Good! I’m hoping that all went well last week and that you managed the workout without any problems! This week we are looking at another short workout with a different stimulus. It’s called Annie. Oh, and you’ll need a skipping rope.
Annie:
Do 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 reps of:
double-unders
situps
For those of you who might not know, a double under is when you jump rope and do two spins with the rope in one jump. This creates an intense stimulus and will also test your technique and coordination. If you are not a master of the art of skipping, I recommend that you practice double unders and do the workout instead with:
150, 120, 90, 60, 30 repetitions of single-unders.
The sit-ups in this workout are very straightforward. You want to be quick in the sit-ups and try and rest as little as possible in between so that you don’t compromise your mental focus on the double-unders.
Top Trainer Tip: Be careful that you don’t tilt your head up or sideways during the jumps. This is easily done and can ultimately cause headaches. Place your gaze about 3 metres in front of you, and concentrate on one spot on the ground.
Feel free to drop by Crossfit Södermalm if you have any questions regarding technique!
Good luck everyone!
